Colin Crawford

Colin has been a member of Committee for a number of years.

His interest and commitment to the Publications Committee of a decade ago, led to his important role of assisting the production and mailing of the RVPA Magazines and other communications with members.

Permanent teaching appointments included: Murtoa, Hyde St Footscray, Newport, Middle Park, Dorcas St South Melb, Elwood, St Kilda (Brighton Rd), and Hawksburn.

Principal at: Eastern Road South Melb, Elwood, Glen Iris and Brighton Beach.

Retired 1994

My informal education was gained in the 1960-61 when I had resigned from the Education Dept to travel overseas to witness the Olympic Games in Rome. Went hitchhiking around Europe and across the USA. Taught in London and worked as a laborer in Germany.

Married to Geraldine and have a son and two daughters. Hobbies include sport, travel and the theatre, especially opera and ballet. Also attended the Olympic Games in Melbourne, Munich and Sydney and ran in the Boston Marathon in 1995.

Life Memberships include the South Melbourne Athletic Club and the South Melbourne District Football Club. Travels have included Europe, India and other Asian countries, the Trans Siberian/Mongolian Railway and North America.

The Swans Premiership in 2005 made me very happy.

Family and keeping fit to continue to travel and enjoy life are my priorities. Along with Church and social activities.
